About Civic Roots | Mission, Civic Participation & Engagement

Our Mission 🌱

Civic Roots helps people understand how civic life works, recognize where they fit within it, and find healthy, sustainable, and meaningful ways to participate.

As a civic participation project, Civic Roots brings together civic readiness tools, educational resources, local civic mapping, conversation support, and message-based merchandise. The goal is to make civic life more understandable, participation more approachable, and engagement more sustainable.

Civic Roots is one small part of the larger work of renewing civic life—helping people move from curiosity and understanding toward participation that fits their interests, capacity, community, and current season of life.

About Me 🌱

Hi, I'm Vendoni — a "Granny Nanny" in Houston, sharing life in a three-generation household.

Civic Roots grew out of my lifelong curiosity about how people connect, how communities thrive, and how democracy can feel more alive in everyday life.

This project is both a small business and a personal calling — a way to bring together creativity, civic participation, and conversation into something we can wear, share, and grow together.

If you're new here, a good place to begin is Civic Readiness →
